August Priebe, one of the oldest citizens of the township, died at his home near the Indian Creek bridge on Thursday. Funeral services at Freedom on Saturday morning were conducted by the Rev. S.K. Fuson, assisted by Rev. J.E. Stone. Mr. Priebe was born in Prussia in 1844. He leaves a wife; five sons: Elmer and Albert of Monticello, Ill., William of New Richmond, Samuel and Fred; and three daughters: Mrs. Luna Bayless, Mrs. Andrew Morrison of Elmdale, and Mrs. John Ashby of Monticello.
