Elmer A. Priebe, 89, of Monticello, died January 27, 1985 in Kirby Hospital, Monticello. Services will be in Mackey-Wright Funeral Home with burial in Monticello Cemetery. Masonic services will be held after visitation on Wednesday evening.

Mr. Priebe was born March 5, 1895 in Montgomery County, IN s/o Gustav and Ottillie Priebe. He married Irene Pierson (1900-1966) December 23, 1947 at the Little Brown Church in the Vale, Nashua IA. She preceded him in death December 18, 1966. Also preceding him in death were six brothers and three sisters. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Priebe was employed by Robert Allerton for 71 years – beginning as a farmhand, then as a houseboy and chauffeur. He was named farm manager of the farms in 1937, continuing in that capacity until his death.

Mr. Priebe was a member of the Masonic Lodge; Hamm-Burke American Legion Post; Monticello Golf Club and Monticello Lions Club. He was a former director of Monticello Grain and a former director of Piatt County Park District. He was a World War I veteran.
