Harvey J. Alvey, 57, a used car salesman for C. F. Smith Motor Company here, died at 4 a.m. Monday at his home, 2214 Duncan. He was a native of Marion County and was a member of Shawnee Post of the American Legion. Surviving are his wife, the former Julia Rector; a son, Harvey J. Alvey, Jr.; two daughters, the Misses Joy Beth and Judith Ann Alvey; a sister, Mrs. Fay Sutherland, and four brothers, Louise, Bernard J., Tony A. and Bert Alvey. The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Cecilia Church. The body is at Ratterman's, 2114 W. Market.
