Miranda's husband, William R. Ashby, died December 27, 1862 in a Gallatin, Sumner Co., TN hospital while serving with the 72nd Indiana Volunteer Infantry. He was born in Ohio to Joseph Ashby and Sarah Conarroe.

Miranda's parents were my 3rd great-grandparents.
