aged 63ys 9 mos & 7 days.
Nancy (Warren) Loney;
b. 15 Apr 1785, NC
d. 22 Jan 1849, Franklin Twp, Ross Co
d/o Solomon Warren and Mary Tilghman,
residents of Pike Co prior to 1810.
Nancy Married; 1800, Guilford County NC to James A. Loney
Nov 2009 - I am adding the following biography for Nancy. The above information was kindly entered by Bev shown below.
Nancy was born circa April 1785 per age at time of death. It is my belief she was born in Caroline Co., MD due to her father showing on 1790 census in Caroline Co., MD. Her family was then in Rockingham Co., NC on the 1800 census. But it should be noted the Ross Co., OH Mortality Schedule shows she was born in North Carolina.
She was indeed the daughter of Solomon Warren and Mary Tilgman of Eastern Shore, Caroline Co., MD. Nancy's parents migrated to Ohio via North Carolina arriving in the 1810s. Nancy's mother, Mary Warren, shows on the 1820 census in Jackson Twp., Pike Co., OH. There is a will for Nancy's father, Solomon Warren, dated May 1820 in Pike County; thus, it is presumed he died shortly thereafter. I am unable to locate any further information on Mary Warren so it is assumed she died in the 1820s in either Pike County or Pickaway County, Ohio where her eldest son, Tilghman Warren, lived.
It is my belief the Warren family migrated to Ohio with the Loney family; brothers, James A. and John Loney.
It is assumed Nancy Warren met James A. Loney in North Carolina and married there since their first two known children were born in North Carolina; their first Ohio born child was born in 1808 in Ross Co., OH. Nancy and James had 13 known children.
Per Ross Co., OH June 1850 Mortality Schedule, Nancy Loney died in Franklin Twp., Ross County, of fever at age 68 in the month of February. Number of days ill were 10. Her headstone shows January 22, 1849 at age 63y9m7d.
Nancy and James A. Loney were my 3rd great-grandparents. They are buried next to their daughter, Elizabeth Breitenbach's young children.
