Charles Dana Snyder, 74, of Denton, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2009, at his home. He was born November 18, 1934 in Hazard, Kentucky, to Fred and Elsie (Gillum) Snyder. He was married to Marilou Staggs Snyder on August 29, 1958 in Big Spring, Texas. He was a veteran of the Air Force, having served 10 years. He was a retired American Airlines Captain, retiring December 1, 1994. He was a member of Southmont Baptist Church.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2009, in the chapel of Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton, Texas. Memorials may be made to Ann's Haven Hospice VNA, 501 S. Carroll Blvd, Suite #201, Denton, TX 76201. Interment will be in the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Mr. Snyder is survived by his wife, Marilou Snyder of Denton; daughters, Cindy Davis and husband Mark of Dallas, Texas, and Cheryl Hassell and husband Bob of Keller, Texas; son, Keith Snyder and wife Brenda of Garland, Texas; brother, O. G. Snyder and wife Desre of Hurst, Texas; and seven grandchildren.
