Opal Mae Davis, a resident of Green Forest, was born January 3, 1911 in Riverside, CA, the daughter of Columbus Conley and Lydia Elizabeth (Ferguson) Lawrence. She departed this life March 30, 1996 in her home at the age of 85.

Davis was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Green Forest, AR.

She is survived by two sons, Dwayne Davis and Jimmie Davis, both of Green Forest; three daughters, Jean Smith of Oklahoma City, OK, Shirley Crumpler of Pleasanton, CA and Frances Ward of Berryville; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Henry Lawrence of Shawnee, OK; and one sister, Betty Cash of Lufkin, TX.

On January 6,1931, she was united in marriage with Burk James Davis, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held April 2 at the First Baptist Church in Green Forest with Rev. Bill Griffith officiating. Interment was in the Yocum Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
