Armstrong – Richard C. Adams, 82, Aurora, Minn., died Saturday evening at an Aurora, Minn., hospital.

Services for Mr. Adams will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church, Armstrong, with the Rev. Travis Cannaday officiating. Interment will be in Armstrong Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home until noon Tuesday and at the church prior to services.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Bryon Adams, he was born April 12, 1896, at Kansas City, Kan. He received his education in Kansas City schools and was married to Oretha Madden on June 21, 1922, at Halfa. Following their marriage they lived in Des Moines, where Mr. Adams was a member of the Des Moines Fire Department for 25 years, until forced to retire for health reasons. The couple moved to Florida in 1955 and he moved to Aurora, Minn., following his wife's death in 1970.

He was a member of the Masons Pioneer Lodge, Des Moines and a veteran of World War I, having served in the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Adams is survived by two sons, Richard Adams Jr., and Robert Adams, both of Hoyt Lakes, Minn.; one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Ann Cone, Winona Lake, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, one great great grandson, two sisters and four brothers.
