Deeward Ray Thompson was born April 13, 1913 in Lovell, Wyoming, the son of Richmond Jackson and Eleanora Asay Thompson.

He grew up in Lovell and attended the Lovell Schools. He married Myrtle Durfee on August 23, 1940 in the Salt Lake City Temple. They made their home in Lovell where Dee worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier from 1950 until 1978 when he retired. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1946 to 1949.

Dee died August 9, 1999 at New Horizons Care Center in Lovell.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle on September 17, 1991. Also preceding him in death were four brothers, Willis, Calvin, Richie, and John, and two sisters, Lola and Gladys.

He is survived by two sons, Michael D. and wife Sherry Thompson of Byron and Edwin R. and wife Teresa of Graham, Washington; two sisters, Nellie Prndle of Billings, Montana and Affa Johnston of Newark, New Jersey; 8 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 13, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. in the Lovell L.D.S. Stake Center. Interment with military services will be in the Lovell Cemetery. Haskell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
