Sam Shultz Baccus, 63, Breckenridge grocer had been in failing health since 1956 and was forced to retire from the grocery business at Breckenridge in 1958. Bacchus moved to Breckenridge in 1918 and was in the grocery business until 1932 when he became the Breckenridge City Engineer. Baccus lived in Mineral Wells and Graham from 1938-1944. In 1944, he returned to Breckenridge to open a grocery store.

Sam Shultz Baccus married Golda Milner at Breckenridge in 1932.
Services were held at the First Baptist Church at Breckenridge with Rev. Edgar Jones, pastor, officiating.
Survived by his wife; one brother - E.D. Bacchus; three nephews.
