Services were held at the Church of Christ Friday afternoon for Winford B. Cummings, 43, who died at his home in St. Louis on Monday, March 15. The Rev. Paul Vining conducted the service and burial was in Maple Cemetery with H.S. Smith Funeral Home service.
Mr. Cummings was born in Pemiscot County on June 19, 1921, the son of the late John and Dollie Cummings. He was married to Miss Genuia Lynn in Piggott, Ark. on March 17, 1945. Since 1943 he had lived in St. Louis, where he operated a food shop.
In addition to his wife, he leaves three brothers, Odell Cummings of Armorel, Ark., Hershell and Otis Cummings of this city; three sisters, Mrs. Flora Rose, Mrs. Daisy Treece and Mrs. Pauline Dunlap of St. Louis; two half-brothers, John and Lon Cummings of Phil Campbell, Ala.; and three half-sisters, Mrs. Minnie Dubois, Mrs. Ida Howard and Mrs. Tina Bain.
