Lavada Catherine Gardner, age 66, of Lincoln, Missouri, passed away Sunday morning, June 8, 2008, at the Lincoln Community Nursing Home in Lincoln, Missouri. She was born in Keller, Texas on October 15, 1941, the daughter of Phillip A. and Vada Idell Seymour Dwyer.

Lavada graduated from Lincoln High School in the class of 1959, and on May 17, 1959, she was united in marriage to Jerry G. Gardner in Lincoln, Missouri. Following their marriage they made their home in Lincoln. Unto this union two children were born. Lavada was an Assistant Vice President at the Farmers Bank in Lincoln with forty-four years of service to the bank and their customers. Her husband, Jerry, preceded her in death on January 30, 1998.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Phillip Dwyer, in 1985.

Lavada was a member of the Lincoln United Methodist Church and was active in the Ruth Circle.

Lavada is survived by one daughter, Brenda Lea Gardner, and one son, Stephen Phillip Gardner, both of Sedalia, Missouri, a special friend, Ferrell Weddle, of Lincoln, one brother, Clifford Dwyer, and his wife, Martha, of Warsaw, Missouri, two sisters-in-law, Delma Dwyer, of Kansas City, and Lora Gardner, of Lincoln, Missouri, a brother-in-law, Emmett Gardner, and his wife, Evelyn, of Lincoln, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at the Lincoln United Methodist Church in Lincoln, Missouri, with Rev. Darren Rew and Rev. Maureen McNeil officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday evening at the Davis-Miller Funeral Home in Lincoln. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Lincoln United Methodist Church or the Benton County Cancer Fund.
