Susan Elvia Hayes, 79, died at her home, 189 Sherman street, at 11:30 Sunday morning after an illness of one year.
Susan Hayes was born in Rock Island County IL, Oct. 20, 1849, the daughter of Samuel Aca (should be Asa) of Ohio and Susan Truxel (should be Hannah Susan Troxel) of Illinois. She was married to Daniel Hayes at Rock Island IL, about 60 years ago.
Surviving are eight children, Mrs. Louise Hatton of Detroit Michigan, Mrs. Mattie Bierman,
Mrs. Bessie Daughtery and Mrs. Mary Howard all of Muscatine; John, Daniel, and
Edward Hayes of Muscatine, Wilson Hayes of Little Falls Minnesota.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Fairbanks Home for Funerals by the Rev. Ira Hawley, pastor of the United Brethren church. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.
