George Henry Asay, 68 years old, a resident of Rock Island more than 35 years, died at 4:30 yesterday afternoon in the home of his niece, Mrs. Herbert L. Schade. 5304 Fourth avenue, Rock Island where he made his home. Death followed an illness of five weeks. Mr. Asay was born Oct. 11, 1862. in Drury, 111., where he was reared and educated and where he married Miss Harriet Haywood. Mrs. Asay preceded him in death 31 years. Mr. Asay was employed at the work of moving houses and buildings and was for 28 years an employee of the Albert A. Rounds House Moving company, Rock Island. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Charles Zirzow of Chicago Heights; a daughter, Mrs. Elsie Shamalian of East Moline: a granddaughter. Miss Ruby Shamalian of East Moline; two nieces, and four nephews. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Lyons & Lindstrand chapel. Rock Island. Interment will be in Chippiannock cemetery, Rock Island.
