An obituary was carried in the Niles Daily Star on August 3, 1959 and it reads: "Mrs. Pearl H. Brant Buchanan-Mrs. Pearl Huff Brant, 74, of 130 West Indiana Avenue, South Bend, former long-time resident of Buchanan, died at 9:15 p.m. Satruday in Osteopathic Hospital, South Bend, following an illness of several months. Mrs. Brant was born May 27, 1885, in Griggsville, Ill., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charle W. Charlton, and prior to moving to South Bend had lived in Buchanan since before 1900. Following the death of her first husband, Charles Huff, she married on Oct. 18, 1942, in South Bend to Ora D. Brant, who survives. Also surviving are: two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Zinninger and Mrs. Dwight Crumley, both of Buchanan, and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday in the Wem Funeral Home here with Elder John Rees, of Buchanan, president of the Northern Indiana Conference of Reorganized Churches of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Frinds may call at the funeral home."
