MILITARY RECORD:
Enrolled as a Private in Company "L" of 3rd Ohio Regiment Volunteer Infantry on May 10, 1898. Company records show he was sick in Division Hospital train from July 7 to 14, 1898. He mustered out with his company at Columbus, Ohio October 16, 1898. His pension was on Certificate No. 1,020434.
In 1906 at Columbus, Ohio, he was married by a Father Kelley. This unnamed wife died; they had no children. He next married Edith Todd on Otober 5, 1931 at Seattle, Washington.
Admitted to the Washington Veterans' Home on July 8, 1936.
Jason Carey died November 3, 1941 at Seaside, Washington six days before his 70th birthday. He was survived by his wife Edith and buried in the Home Cemetery at Retsil.
