SABETHA -- Ola Bernice Chase, 94, Sabetha, died here Monday, Feb. 8, 1999, at a nursing home where she had been since August.

She was born Aug. 8, 1904, in Jackson County, to Gilliard Benjamin and Margaret Jordan Mapes and lived in the Granada community where she attended grade school. She lived in the Granada community many years and later east of Overbrook. She moved to Sabetha more than 25 years ago.

She was a member of Trinity Church of the Brethren in Sabetha and had been a member of the former Granada Church of the Brethren.

She married Orville Chase on Dec. 23, 1923. He died in 1972.

Survivors include sons, Kenneth Chase, Sabetha, Loren Chase, Coquille, Ore., and Marion Lyle Chase, Union, Neb.; a daughter, Vera Brock, Sun City West, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren and 15 great- grandchildren.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Church of the Brethren in Sabetha.

Burial will be in Wetmore Cemetery in Wetmore.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Popkess Mortuary in Sabetha.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
