Mrs. Thelma A. Chiles
Holton-Mrs. Thelma A. Johnson Chiles, 83, Holton, formerly of Topeka, died Tuesday, Aug. 7, at a Holton hospital.
Mrs. Chiles moved to the Topeka area from Mayetta 25 years ago and was a cook in several Topeka restaurants.
She was born Aug. 18, 1900, in Goff, the daughter of G.B. and Margaret Jordan Mapes.
She was married to Elmer Johnson Sept. 18, 1918. He died May 22, 1951. She was married to John Chiles July 8, 1954. He died in April 1979. A son, Donald Johnson died in 1978.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Elsie Kern, Mayetta; a son, Galen Johnson, Topeka; a sister, Mrs. Ola Chase, Sabetha; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Mercer Funeral Home, Holton. Burial will be in Mayetta Cemetery.
