The funeral of J.M. Vamdemark who was killed by his horse kicking him on the 21st of Jan. 1894 was largely attended. The funeral was preached by Rev. Noffsinger who was assisted by Rev. McCloud at the Ottawa River Church. Mr Vandemark was in the prime of life being 35 years of age and a hard working man a good and useful citizen and will be greatly missed in the neighborhood. He leaves a wife and four small children.James was buried in the Ottawa River Cemetery.
