Emmett Vandemark

ADA - Emmett Vandemark, 86, of 534 S. Johnson died 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in Lima Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.

He was born July 21, 1884, in Putnam County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Vandemark. He married Ida Irvin in 1904, and she survives.

Also surviving are four sons, Irvin, Milford and Myron, all of here, and Ellis of Lima; five daughters, Mrs. Lauren (Venna) Schaller of Jenera, Mrs. Ethel Frankhauser of Bluffton, Mrs. Paul (Frieda) Kindle of Rt. 3, Kenton, Mrs. Jack (Imogene) Schlosser of Lima, and Mrs. Bernard (Vida) Preston of Rt. 1, Dola.

Also two brothers, Clarence of Elida and Alva of Lima; a half-brother, Joseph Teegardin, also of Lima; 23 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Vandemark was a member of Ottawa River United Church of Christ near Rimer.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Preston Funeral Home, Rev. Willard Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 tonight.
