41-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed In Crash - Nathaniel Lewis Crashed Into Truck

EPHRATA, Pa. - Ephrata police said a motorcyclist died in a crash Wednesday afternoon.

Nathaniel Lewis, 41, of Akron, was driving along the 800 block of East Main Street and didn't notice traffic slowing, police said.

He crashed into the back of a truck and was hit by the trailer of another vehicle.

Nathaniel J. Lewis, ( Hillbilly, Rip, Nate) 41, of Akron, entered into rest at Lancaster General Hospital, Lancaster on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Born in Clearfield County, Pa. he was the son of Victoria J. Schaffer Lewis of Clearfield and the late George V Lewis Sr

He is the husband of Joy A. Williams Lewis. They celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary on February 28th of this year.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, exotic animals, motorsports, riding motorcycle, antique car restoration, and watching the history channel.

Nate presently worked as a concrete worker for E and G Concrete of Stevens.

Surviving besides his wife are his mother, Victoria (Vicki) companion of James F. Haag of Clearfield, a son Mark A. Lewis, fiancé of Ashley Witman, a daughter, Breanna M. Lewis, at home, and a grandson, Josiah M. Delp.

He was preceded in death by his father, 2 brothers Dale Lewis and George Lewis Jr.

Friends may call from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, Monday, March 23rd followed by a funeral service at 7:30 PM at the Stradling Funeral Home, 30 N. 9th Street, Akron, with Pastor Frank Rice officiating.

Private interment at the convenience of the family.
