Born September 14, 1937 in Clearfield, PA, he was the son of Ted and Ida Caldwell Lewis
Mr. Lewis had served 20 years in the U S Army having served during the Vietnam War. He was also retired as a truck driver for Soult Wholesale in Clearfield.
Mr. Lewis was a member of the Clearfield Presbyterian Church, the Clearfield Lodge #314 F. & A. M., the Altoona Consistory, and the Jaffa Shrine in Altoona. He was a member of the Clearfield Shrine Club, the Clearfield B.P.O.E #540 and the Central Mountain Region AACA.
On October 26, 1963 he wed the former Victoria "Vickie" Schaffer, who survives along with a son Nathaniel Lewis and his wife Joy of Lancaster. 2 grandchildren Mark Allen Lewis and Brianna Marie Lewis, and a sister Esther Woodling and her husband Clifford of Woodland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons Dale L Lewis and George Lewis Jr and a brother John Lewis
Services for Mr. Lewis will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. 16 N. Front Street, Clearfield, on Friday December 28, 2007 at 2:00 PM, with Mr. Richard Barkley officiating.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday December 27 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and Friday from 11 AM until time of services. Clearfield Lodge #314, Free and Accepted Masons, will conduct a Masonic Memorial Service Thursday at 6:30 PM Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by members of the Clearfield American Legion and VFW Joint Honor Guard.
The family suggests contributions be made to the Shriner's Hospitals.
