Blanche went by her middle name so she would not be confused with her mother whose named was also Clara Blanche. She graduated from Fresno High School in the early 1920s and moved to Madera when she married her husband Floyd. Blanche was a great cook and loved to sew clothes for her husband, children and grandchildren. She used left over scrapes of material to make quilts, several that have survived to today.
