Funeral services for Aaron Washington Bolen, 83, Lillybrook, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Missionary Baptist Church, Josephine, by the Rev. F.C. Calhoun

Burial will be in the Hannah Lilly Cemetery, Odd.

Bolen died at 10 a.m. Monday in a Beckley hospital after being seriously ill for the past week.

Born May 15, 1875, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Esau Bolen.

He had been a lifelong resident of the aLillybrook area and was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church of Josephine.

His wife, Mrs. MArtha Jane Meadows Bolen, died in March, 1939.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Sadie Maxwell of Dover, Ohio, and Mrs. Clole Sranick of Pickshin; four sons, George Henry, Lonnie Z., Carl B., and Esau, all of Lillybrook; one sister, Mrs. Zinia Garrison of Fireco; one brother Nelson Bolen of Fireco; 20 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. One son, James Herbert Bolen, Preceded him in death.

The body will be taken from the Melton Mortuary to the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Cloie Stanick, at 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Pallbearers will be Theodore Midkiff, Sherman Walker, Hugh Campbell, Frank Michalek, Bill Hornsby, and Ralph Bell.
