Services Held For Mountain View Pioneer Woman

Services for Mrs. Julia C. Allen, 89 years old, were held at 2 p.m. last Friday at the Church of Christ at Mountain View, Bro. Walter Teel, pastor, officiating.

Mrs. Allen suffered a stroke four weeks ago and had been unable to speak or write. She became worse last February 18 and was rushed to a Hobart hospital for emergency treatment. She died during an operation for a ruptured appendix. Gangrene had set in.

Born on July 8, 1868, at Valireca, Ga., she moved with her family to Mountain View in 1907 from DeQueen, Ark. Her husband preceded her in death in 1937.

Survivors include five children: Annie Allen, Mountain View; Myrtle Foust and Marvin Allen, Modesto, Calif.; Eula Teel, Hushson, Calif.; Mrs. Vernon Crump, Nampa, Idaho; and 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
