Exie Vernon Crump, 95, of Nampa, passed away Monday, April 14, 2008, in a Nampa hospital. Burial in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.

Vernon was born on Feb. 16, 1913, in Mt. View, Okla., to James Hiram and Julia Catherine Teal Allen. She was raised and educated in Oklahoma graduating from Mt. View High School in 1930. Following her graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, Willard Clyde Teel and they made their home in Salem, Ore. She and her husband had many different businesses around Oregon including the La Grande area where they operated a paint store and also a furniture store. They moved to the Nampa area in the early 1940s where they established the Church of Christ in Nampa. Mr. Teel passed away in 1945. In 1949 she married Lowell Vaughn Crump and they made their home in Nampa. He passed away in 1997.

Besides being a partner in their family businesses and also working as a minister's wife, Vernon enjoyed her role as a homemaker, mother and grandmother for many years. She especially loved her time with her family and friends and loved spending time with her church family. She was also very involved with TOPS where she served as a State Queen for Idaho.

She is survived by her daughter, Dene Dixon and her husband, David of Boise; a son, Jim Crump and his wife, Mary Lee of Coeur d' Alene; four grandchildren, Bradley Dixon and his wife, Miranda; and Jenny, Jeff and Jarrod Crump; and one great-granddaughter, Madison Dixon. Besides her parents and two husbands, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Catherine.
