Thomas Brown III (son of Thomas Brown, Jr, the founder of Brownsville, Pennsylvania) was an early settler of Gerard's Station and then Mercer's Station.

Thomas Brown served as State Representative for Hamilton County in the 1st Ohio General Assembly in 1803.

He married Ann Mercer, daughter of pioneer Captain Aaron Mercer. They had two sons, Hope Mercer in 1804 and Thomas Mercer in 1806. Thomas and Ann died in a cholera epidemic in 1806, leaving their young sons orphaned.

NOTE: A replacement headstone for Thomas Brown is present in the Columbia Baptist Church Cemetery that shows 1805 for his death. This appears to be in error.
