Thomas Brown Jr was the founder of Brownsville, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. On his stone indicates that he was the owner. It would be interesting to learn how he managed to 'own' the town. The long standing tombstone in Brownsville attests to his being the founder.

He fought in the Revolutionary War, in Captain Andrew Swearingen's Company.

Andrew Swearingen served in the American Revolutionary War in the rank of Captain. He was also a Ranger. He served under Lieutenant Colonel David Williamson. His FaG MEMORIAL ID is 11346438

Based on 1778, if it was Thomas Sr, he would have been 70 [too old to march on foot and fight?].

Assuming it was Thomas Jr, he would have been 40.
