Brenda Faye (Shelton) Blankinship
Funeral service for Brenda Faye (Shelton) Blankinship, 58, Valley View, Texas, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Snyder with the Rev. John Johnson, pastor of Glad Tidings Assembly of God in Altus, and the Rev. Jeff Flowers, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Snyder, officiating.

Mrs. Blankinship died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, after a prolonged illness.

Burial will follow at the Fairlawn Cemetery in Snyder under the direction of Becker Funeral Home.

She was born Sept. 18, 1950, to Wilton and Dorothy (Estoll) Shelton in Snyder as the sixth of 11 children. She attended school at Mountain Park, where she graduated high school in 1968. She graduated from the Great Plains Technology Center in 1970 with a degree in practical nursing. She cared for many area children while she was employed as a licensed practical nurse at a local pediatrics clinic from 1970 to 1985. She married Johnny Mark Blankinship on Sept. 15, 1991, in Valley View, Texas.

She raised four children: Steven, Katie, Micah and Jesse. She and her husband traveled a great deal during their years as team-truckers.

Survivors include her husband, of the home; her children: Steven Tyrone, Lawton; Katie Chapman and her husband, Chris, of Lawton; Micah Blankinship, Gainesville, Texas; and Jesse Blankinship and his wife, Stacey, of Ardmore. Six grandchildren: Josilyn, Karlee, Kleya, Nyla, Brian and Aaron; five sisters and five brothers: Charlena S. Idell, Tipton, Calif.; Larry Shelton and his wife, Ann, of Porterville, Calif.; James Shelton, Medicine Park; Shirlena Ayers and her husband, Pat, of Snyder; Perry Shelton and his wife, Brenda, of Altus; Joe Mack Shelton, Snyder; Wilton Leslie Shelton, Oklahoma City; Anita Shelton, Mountain Park; Janice Crume and her husband, Dennis, of Snyder; Angela Shelton, Lawton; three aunts: Erma (Kitchens) Font, Sacramento, Calif.; Geraldine Shelton, Manitou; and Betty Estoll, Marysville, Calif.; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one niece.

The Family will greet friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
