Funeral service for Leslie Shelton, 55, Oklahoma City, will be a 1:30 pm Friday in the First Baptist Church, Snyder with Dr. Tony Lambert, Sr. Pastor, of the First Southern Baptist Church, Del City, OK officiating.
Leslie died Wednesday in Snyder, Oklahoma.
Burial will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Snyder under the direction of Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Snyder.
** The family will greet friends Thursday evening at the funeral home from 5pm until 7pm. ***
He was born April 20, 1955 in Sacramento, California to Wilton Julius and Dorothy M. (Estoll) Shelton. He grew up in the Snyder- Mountain Park area, and graduated from Mountain Park High School in 1975. For the past eight years he has worked as a maintenance technician at the First Southern Baptist Church in Del City, Oklahoma. He gave his life to Christ nine years ago. He was a painter, loved to play the guitar and write poetry.
Survivors include his children, Wilton Jessie Shelton and wife Kim of Snyder, OK, Matthew Lynn Shelton of Snyder, OK, Chandra Leann Shelton of Snyder, OK, Ivy Leigh Shelton of Oklahoma City, his brothers and sisters, Charlena S. Idell of Tipton, CA, Larry Shelton and wife Ann of Porterville, CA, James Shelton of Medicine Park, OK, Shirlena Ayers and husband Pat of Snyder, OK, Perry Shelton and wife Brenda of Altus, OK, Joe Mack Shelton of Snyder, OK, Anita Shelton of Mountain Park, OK, Janice Crume and husband Dennis of Snyder, OK, Angela Shelton of Lawton, OK, granddaughter Skyla Leann Muniz, and numerous aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Brenda Blankinship.
