"George Leon Scott, 51, a lifetime resident of Livingston County, died at 6:15 this morning at the Chillicothe hospital, where he had been a patient seven days. He had been failing in health seven years and seriously ill the last six months.

The son of George Ezra Scott and Ida Alice (Simpson) Scott, he was born in Livingston County on Sept. 1, 1915. He attended schools at Bedford and Fountain Grove. On Jan. 28, 1942, he married Pauline Colvin in Livingston County. She survives of the home at 119 Herriford street.

Other survivors are two daughters, Janie Scott, 9, and Susan Scott, 7, of the home; a son, Wayne, of the home; his mother, Mrs. Ida Scott of this city; and a brother, John Francis Scott of Chillicothe.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Norman Funeral Home chapel by Rev. Harry Clifton, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Wheeling Cemetery." The Chillicothe Constitution-Tribune (Chillicothe, Missouri), October 29, 1966
