Elizabeth Rothrock was the eldest of eleven known children of Jacob Rothrock (1783-1841) and Susanna Brunner/Bruner (1790-1860), who married 18 Mar 1810 at Easton, Northampton County, Pennsylvania.

Elizabeth married Philip Clauss Frankenfield (1807-1866) on 09 May 1830 at Easton, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. Elizabeth and Philip were the parents of four known children, namely:

1. Susanna Frankenfield Messinger (1829-1873)
2. Edward Frankenfield (1830-1909)
3. David Daniel Frankenfield (1832-1910)
4. Emmalina "Emeline" Edna Frankenfield Wagner (1836-1904)

In 1850 the parents and last three children were living at Lower Saucon Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. Elizabeth's widowed mother Susanna was living with them. Was Susanna Frankenfield Messinger really a child of Elizabeth and Philip? In 1860 Philip, Elizabeth, son Edward and a Lydia Yungling (sic, age 16) were living at Palmer Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. In 1870 the widow Elizabeth was living with her married daughter Emma (Emeline) at Palmer Township, (Easton Post Office), Northampton County, Pennsylvania.
