Susannah (went by Susie) A. Rothrock was the fifth of eleven known children of Jacob Rothrock (1783-1841) and Susanna Brunner/Bruner (1790-1860), who married 18 Mar 1810 at Easton, Northampton County, Pennsylvania.

Susie married Jacob S. Hartzell (1818-1893) on 24 (or 21?) Mar 1839 at Northampton County, Pennsylvania. Susie and Jacob were the parents of five known children, namely:

1. Mary Ann E. Hartzell (1843-1907)
2. John Jacob Hartzell (1844-p1880)
3. Ann Maria Louisa Hartzell Kachline (1846-1929)
4. Susan Catherine Hartzell Seem (1849-c1886-1900)
5. Emma Cecelia Hartzell Seem (1851-1933)

Some records say there were six children, one died young.
