He married Betty Davis in 1948. They lived in Stanfield and in the Portland area, where he worked in home building and repair, specializing in plastering and carpentry. They moved to Newberg 52 years ago.
Survivors include: wife Betty of Newberg; sons, John of Gettysburg, Penn., Patrick of Eagle Creek and Thomas of Newberg; daughters, Shirley Lebeda of Newberg, Deborah Roshak of Clackamas, Linda Lingel of Beaverton, Theresa Cornwell of Dundee and Christina Jacobs of Salem; brother James of Burlington, Wash.; sisters, Mary Thomas of Sequim, Wash., Theresa Hahlen of Kansas City, Kan., and Frances Vesper of Placentia, Calif.; 23 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass was held Oct. 20 in St. Peter Catholic Church in Newberg with Father Don Gutmann officiating. Committal took place at St. Anthony Cemetery in Tigard.
