Captain Rayburn Hawkins, 63, of Dyersburg, died Sunday at his residence.

He was a retired captain with the Dyersburg Police Department and a member of McCullough's Chapel Baptist Church.

Services will be at 11 AM Tuesday in the chapel of J. W. Curry & Son Funeral Home in Dyersburg with the Rev. Donald Williams officiating. Burial will be at 4 PM Tuesday in Beauty Hill Cemetery in Selmer.

The family will receive visitors from 4-9 PM today at the funeral home and from 2-4 PM Tuesday in the cemetery chapel.

He leaves his friend and companion, Malinda Austin of Dyersburg; five daughters, Anita June Seratt, Renee Woodlan, Monica Lynn Rose, Michelle Lowry and Sophia Gamble, all of Dyersburg; a son, James R. Hawkins, Jr. of Dyersburg; three sisters, Mildred Strain and Artie Pack, both of Jackson and Irene Johnson of Thomaston, GA; a brother, Talmadge Hawkins of Dyersburg; and nine grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Alexander, Rodney Davis, Ernie Roberts, Steve Steward, Rickey Tidwell, Ray Windall and Chuck Holland.

The family requests that any memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society.
