Mary Ellen Riney, 63, Keokuk, died Sunday, Sept. 27, at Keokuk Area Hospital. She was born July 18, 1929, in Granger, Mo., to Perry and Lulu C. Anderson Rude. She was married Dec. 31, 1954, in Keokuk to Bernard Riney. He survives. Other survivors include: one son, Bernie W. Riney of Keokuk; one daughter, Becky M. Roberts of Keokuk; two sisters, Anna Mae Salyers of Meadville, Mo., and Leona Shelton of Kirksville, Mo.; one brother, Eston Rude of Keokuk; two grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren. Mrs. Riney was preceded in death by two brothers. She was employed by Sheller-Globe of Keokuk for 10 years before her retirement in 1974. Prior to moving to Keokuk in 1974 she had resided in Warsaw for 15 years. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and Local Union 444. Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Vigen Memorial Home with the Rev. Michael Spiekermeier officiating. Burial will be in Keokuk National Cemetery. Visitation is today at the funeral home, with family meeting friends 7-9 tonight. A memorial is established.
