Morgan was a miner by trade and while working in the mines around Solano County, California he met and married for the first time, Miss Francess Ellen Hill. That was about 1874. She is the daughter of Ephraim Hill and Minerva Herd Mathews. From this union came two daughters, Mary Francis and Ora Ada. Along with Francess's son Malion from a previous marriage, the family lived in Vacaville, and Yreka, California before moving to Tulare, California. It was here that in 1881, Francess died. Morgan married for the second time to Miss Sarah Elizabeth Thomas, on 23 Oct 1884 in Tulare County, California, USA. She is the daughter of Josiah Wesley Thomas and Mary Retherford. From this union came 6 children, two boys, Lealand Grover, and Morgan Mason. The girls are Camma Gertrude (died in infancy), Nita Leone, Marguerite Ann, and Grace Vera. Morgan died on 20 Apr 1935 in Clovis, Fresno, California, USA, at the home of his eldest daughter Mary Francis Fine and was buried 23 Apr 1935 in Tulare Cemetery, Tulare, Tulare, California, USA.
