My paternal grandmother

My grandma was so funny ~ most of the time that is...One of the funniest things I can remember was trying to show her how to blow a bubble. My brother and I convinced her that she needed at least five or six pieces of bubble gum to make a bubble. Well, she certainly tried her hardest. The gum went flying out of her mouth and onto the windshield inside the car. Needless to say it was HILARIOUS to us, but not to her. She was NOT HAPPY!!! We had to clean up the mess, and she never, ever tried to blow a bubble again. I will always remember that. Whenever I chew a piece of gum, I smile...

Esther Edwards Weds George K. Bogan
In a quiet ceremony at 6 o'clock Saturday evening, Esther Edwards, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Edwards of Hobart, and George K. Bogan of Valparaiso, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Bogan, also of Valparaiso, were united in marriage at the home of the Rev. A. H. McLain, Pastor of the Brunswick United Presbyterian Church of Gary. The bride was attired in a simple floor length gown of sky blue organdy and carried a bouquet of roses. Her attendants, Joan Ball, Sally Bogan, and Madelyn Edwards wore pastel shades of pale green, peach, and orchid. Mr. Bogan was attended by Robert Edwards who served as best man. Only members of the immediate families were present.
After the ceremony, a wedding dinner was served to about thirty relatives and friends in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Major Daniels of Hobart, the latter being a sister of the bride. The young couple will make their home at 708 Tyler Street, Gary.
The bride and groom both are employed by the Kennedy Laundry Company of Gary. Recently there have been several miscellaneous showers given in their honor.
