"Katie" loved to gallop as fast as her horse could run, write poetry and act out little plays with her small children to occupy the long days of winter.
Lightening Struck behind Katie's home, engulfing the Bluff in fire 1894.She put her 4 small children on a large rock to keep them safe while she ran buckets of water to wet her roof. Her
husband was away herding cattle.Her home was saved.After the fire her husband took her on vacation to the Hot Springs near Henley where she died suddenly.
