A discrepancy exists, one record saying that he was born in Jun 1874 and another saying Jun 1879. Perhaps his wife Marie didn't know the proper year as such things might not have been so important because they had no children. Perhaps she bought the stone well after his death and the carver got it wrong...no sense in spending good money after bad just to change the year (as had to be done on Willard BEEBE Sr's marker) or completely replace the marker. Or the marker may have been bought and placed after Marie died for them both to share and the purchaser was only able to approximate John BABBLER's birth year.
