Father: William Harvey Blackstone b Sept.1867 Alabama
Mother: Frances L. b Oct. 1870 Alabama

Vernon married Grace Blackstone, born 7/11/1905, from Pritchett in Upshur County on May 21, 1932. They built their home 501 S. White Oak Road in the White Oak community and lived there until their deaths. Grace taught first grade and band at White Oak school for 47 years, Vernon was a farmer and rancher, and also did work for local oil companies. They had no children of their own, but always had children around them, especially nieces and nephews.

During summer months, they always had nieces and nephews staying with them for the summer. It was always a joy to spend the summers with "Aunt Grace and Uncle Vernon."

Vernon would attend cattle sales almost every Saturday, and the children loved to go with him. There was always something to do at "Aunt Grace's & Uncle Vernon's, and the children were never bored.

They are greatly missed...even years later.
