Grace's father died when she was only 3 years old. Her mother remarried George H. Morris of Upshur Co on Nov.1911, and he was the father who raised Grace and her brothers and sisters.

Grace became a school teacher and taught first grade and band at White Oak, Tx. school for 47 years. She and her husband, Vernon,a rancher and farmer, were well known in the White Oak Community. They were faithful members of the Greggton Church of Christ. They were well known for their kindness and charity towards others, always helping where they were needed.
