R. Donald Rogers, 93, of Brookeville, formerly of Bradenton, Fla., and Falls Church, Va., died of complications of prostate cancer on Jan. 15, 2008, at Brooke Grove Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sandy Spring.

Born Aug. 20, 1914, in Grand Rapids, Mich., he was the son of the late Ralph E. and Estella Sleesman Rogers.

He was the husband of the late Alice M. Hartman Rogers, who died in 2002. They had been married for 60 years.

Mr. Rogers was a federal civilian employee during World War II. He graduated from South High School in Grand Rapids and was a graduate of Columbus University School of Accountancy, now part of Catholic University.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Gordon Rogers.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Jan. 29 at Oakdale Emory United Methodist Church. Inurnment will be on Jan. 30 at 1 p.m. in National Memorial Park in Falls Church.

Memorial donations may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 3200 Manatee Avenue West, Bradenton, FL 34205, or the American Cancer Society, 11221 Amherst Ave., Silver Spring, MD 20902.
