Youngest child of James Holmes and Ellen C. Olson Holmes, she was the first in the family to be born in the U.S. after her family immigrated from Norway. (source: 1850 U.S. Census)

After arriving in Wisconsin, her mother was remarried twice more, to Mr. Camp (Kempf), and later to Mr. Jensen.

She outlived all her children, and her husband. In her old age, she lived with her younger half-brother Martin Camp, his daughter (her niece) and her brother's grandchildren.

When she died, a couple of weeks before her 99th birthday, she was celebrated as the oldest person in Natoma, Kansas.
