Rebecca O. Corman, daughter of William and Emily (Purnell) Horner, was born in Astoria, Illinois, March 26, 1880. She passed away at the Nuckolls County Hospital in Superior, Nebraska, Thursday, September 28, 1977, at the age of 97 years, 6 months and 2 days.

At the age of four, she and her family moved to Friend. Later in life she attended Nebraska Wesleyan University and taught school until her marriage to Harry W. Corman on December 18, 1912. To this union was born a son, Ralph.

Rebecca lived on a farm until 1947, when she moved to Superior. She entered the Superior Good Samaritan Home in 1966 and has resided there since. Rebecca was a member of the Superior United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry; two brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include her son, Ralph and his wife Lila, of Carbondale, Colorado; 6 grandchildren, Cynthia Durham of Randall, Kansas; John Corman of North Chili, New York; Cathy Dole of Bellevue, Mary Jane O'Connor of Ft. Collins, Colorado and Linda and Tom Corman of Carbondale, Colorado; and 2 great grandchildren, Eric and Steve Durham of Randall, Kansas.

Funeral services were held from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel Saturday afternoon, October 1, 1977, with Rev. Marion Knoell officiating. Burial was in the Nelson Cemetery. Casketbearers were Dan Corman, Kenneth Corman, Jerry Durham, Kerry Corman, Tom Corman and Kevin O'Connor.
