Oroville Register, Thursday, June 26, 1902, pg 2, col 4: Married by Judge Gray. Hon. John C. Gray on Monday afternoon united in marriage Robert E. Adkins of Wheatland, and Miss Sarah M. Bateman, of Durham.

The young gentleman lived in Wheatland for a long time, but during the past year he has been employed on the Lott ranch near Durham and there wooed and won his bride, who is a niece of Miss Hannah Bateman.

They are a most sensible and practical young couple and today begin their married life at good, honest hard work, for the bride goes at housekeeping work and the young husband will take his place on a header.

May both live long and prosper. They have our best wishes for many years of happiness and prosperity.
