Chico Enterprise, Thursday, February 9, 1939: "Death Summons Robt. E. Adkins: Robert E. Adkins, 74, native of California, died last night at his home on 248 W. 21st street.
Adkins was retired and had been a resident of this district for many years. His survivors include: One sister, Mrs. Mollie Coburn, Lincoln, and the following nephews and nieces: H. L. Murch, Willows; A.D. Murch, Auburn; Hal Murch, Maricopa; Jess Murch, Roseville; Guy Murch, Cecil Murch and Fred Murch, Mrs. Hazel Roger, all of Lincoln; Herbert Hite, Smartsville; L.W. Hite, Durham; Mrs. Charlotte Beske, Lincoln; Mrs. Nora Bushby, Hammonton; George Willis, Chico; John Willis, Grass Valley; Mrs. G.M. Johnson, Oakland; W.S. Huling, Folsom; Roble Murch, Lincoln; Mrs. Wilburta Rogers, San Francisco, and Mrs. Edna Rodle of San Louis [sic] Obispo.
Funeral services will be held at the Westfall funeral home Saturday afternoon at 3. Rev. A.E. Sanner of the Church of the Nazarene will officiate. Burial will be in the family plot at the Durham cemetery.
