MARY JANE BELVAL
MILTON — Mary Jane Belval, 85, of Milton passed away at home with her family at her side on Thursday, June 19, 2003, following a short illness. Mary was born Aug. 1, 1917, in St. Joachin, Canada, the daughter of Emile and Dorila Stanislas Pigeon.
On April 8, 1936, she married Charles Albert Belval.
He predeceased her in 1973.
Mary retired from the Mary Fletcher Hospital after working for several years in the hospital bakery and cafeteria. Following her retirement she ran her own bakery on Prim Road in Colchester and on Route 7 in Milton until its closing in the early 1970s.
Mary and Charles raised seven children who survive her: Gloria Tremblay and her husband, Paul, of Georgia, Pauline Belval of Milton, Louis Belval and his wife, Mary, of St. Albans Bay, Roland Belval, Theresa Maynard, Rita Dupree and her husband, Roger, and Leo Belval and his wife, Cheryl, all of Milton, and a daughter-in-law, Madeline Belval of Essex; 20 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren. She leaves six brothers and sisters, Roland Pigeon and his wife, Nettie, of Westford, Annette Boutin of Essex, George Pigeon and his wife, Theresa, of Florida, Raymond Pigeon and his wife, Claudette, of Georgia, Ida LaRoche of Highgate, and Doris Emmons and her husband, Albert, of Winooski; and a sister-in-law, Jeannine Pigeon of Swanton.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Morris and Paul Pigeon; and three sisters, Marie Pigeon, Cora Brosseau and Alice LeFerrier.
Burial in New Mount Calvary Cemetery in Burlington.
