The critical illness of Charles Edward, the third son of Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Hemler, whose condition was noted in these columns last week, terminated in death at 4 o'clock Friday afternoon, September 15, 1905. The boy had been ill only nine days, death resulting from appendicitis. A surgical operation had been performed about thirty hours prior to his death, and for a time it seemed the desired result had been accomplished, but later developments proved that the boy had passed the stage of human aid.

The deceased was born in Government Valley, and was fourteen years and four days old at the time of his death. He was a bright and promising youth, and the loss falls heavily on the bereft family.

Funeral services were conducted at the home on Sunday by Rev. Baer and interment was made in the Sundance cemetery.
