Services for Mrs. Betty Gene Parker Barron, age 73, of New Harmony, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2008, in the New Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Robbie Caldwell officiating. Interment will follow in the New Harmony Cemetery under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Directors in Lindale.

Mrs. Barron went to be with her Jesus on Wednesday, March 5, 2008, in a Tyler hospice center. She was born on April 20, 1934, in Tyler to William "Bill" and Mary Beasley Parker, and lived the majority of her life in the Tyler and New Harmony area. Mrs. Barron was a member of the New Harmony Baptist Church, where she was a Sunbeam director, and was a homemaker and seamstress.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph Alfred Barron of New Harmony; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and "Ginnie" Barron of New Harmony, Mark and Sandy Barron of Chapel Hill; daughter and son-in-law, Martha Barron Aaron and husband Dennis of New Harmony; brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Frances Parker of Tyler; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Nell and Duane Medlock of Giddings; grandchildren, Melissa Barron Navarro and husband Jesse of New Harmony, Sabrina Barron Dyer and husband Chris of Cypress, Jena Jett and husband Michael of Red Springs, William "Dub" Bryant and wife Brandy of Lindale, Clay Barron and wife Krystal of Whitehouse, Erica Aaron and Wade Aaron, both of New Harmony; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Randy Barron, Kenny Barron, Curtis Parker, Gary Bristow, Don Ferrell and Justin Emmons. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Clay Barron, William "Dub" Bryant and Wade Barron Aaron. Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the New Harmony Baptist Church Building Fund, 1025l FM 724, Tyler, 75704.
